More Spoilers? Yes, Dammit!  
OK, just got hold of my (oh-so-pretty) Doctor Who Magazine for this month. Lots and lots of Torchwood spoilers (and pretty pictures).


The new stuff:
  • We learn a lot more about Jack, "particularly his family"

  • The alien world we see? It's none other than the Boeshane Peninsular (the spelling according to DWM)

  • We learn more about the history of Torchwood itself

  • For those worried about Owen's role being reduced, according to RTD the exact opposite seems to be the case - he has "a huge, multi-episode story coming up, which shows Burn at his very best."

  • There's "some beautifully detailed character work ticking away, in gentle arcs", not just about Owen, but Tosh and Ianto as well. RTD mentions the photo of Owen and Tosh that Tosh keeps on her fridge. He says that "There's plenty more to be discovered about that secret crush". And we all know about the upcoming Jack/Ianto arc.

  • Gwen's pregnancy? Definitely "alien".

  • When Martha comes into the team, "she's sort of observing [them] as much as anything else."

  • Tosh's appearance in the DW episode Aliens of London is referred to somewhere in Series 2.
  • Burn Gorman - "...in Series Two, you've big changes in Owen. Okay, he still has his foibles and dysfunctions, but it's nice to see him work as part of the team, as a professional. As a medic, as a person, he's much more mature, I think, and more at peace with his place in the team. A lot of episodes are about where Owen's place is in the team, especially with Freema joining - as another medic." Lots of questions are answered about Owen (including why he is like he is)

  • "You see a huge change in Tosh in Series Two... and that's all I'm saying!" (Naoko Mori)

There's obviously tonnes more in the magazine - be sure to pick it up. Anyway, are we excited?

Of course, in the DWM interview, Burn mentions that it was a concious choice of his and the writers to make Owen a character who is not always likeable, in order to balance Jack out. Now that they have John, I have a feeling that he might just become a little more, if not likeable, sympathetic.

That will be interesting to see....I remember reading other articles where they said they mellowed Owen out a bit for this season.

These are wonderful... but do they say if we'll be seeing more of Rhys' bum? Long drawn out dolly shots of his bum? Bum close-ups?? Rhys bum running down the beach in slow-motion???

I'd like to see a spin-off of Torchwood. Starring- Rhys' bum.

I love how they keep trying to fool us (Gwen's 'pregnant', not 'going to have a baby'; Gwen and Rhys have a wedding, they don't 'get married'). But we're clever, oho. Cleverer than their cheap tricks! =P

This series sound better by the day! Can't wait!

I think we were told that Gwen wakes up on the day of her wedding pregnant, so... I hope a baby doesn't come out of it. I'm pretty sure you need those 8 or so months to try and prepare...

I've seen the photos from the shooting of that episode...and I'm no expert, but she looked ready to burst. Let's hope she doesn't explode or anything. On second thought...that would be kinda wicked. >_>

I always wondered how Gwen's wedding dress magically becomes heavily-pregnant-lady-friendly.

it's being happy with what you've got that really matters, and if I've got my TW and my DW, then I'm happy...even if I have to live off Top Ramen for awhile.
